Enjoying a brief break in the rain, World Superbike racers were able to qualify in dry conditions at the Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. The times turned in pleased the American crowd that had braved cold temperatures and downpours earlier in the day.
Four of the top six times were ridden on Ducati 1098R bikes. In fact, first and second places were earned by riders of these bikes, Liberty Racing Team Effenbert’s Jakub Smrz in the one spot and Althea Racing Team’s Carlos Checa at number two.
The next six top finishers were Kawasaki Racing Team’s Tom Skyes, Althea Racing’s Davide Giugliano, Honda World Superbike Team’s Jonathan Rea, Team Effenbert Liberty Racing’s Sylvain Guintoli, and Aprilia Racing Team’s Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty.
The team from here at Utah Motorcycle Insurance was not able to make the races at MMP, but enjoyed them on SPEED (albeit not live since a rerun of the Monaco F1 race seemed to take precedence).
